Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory
Our founder's philosophy of Need-Based Research still shapes our approach to seed innovation, guiding every effort to develop solutions that genuinely address farmers' real challenges and aspirations. Established in 2002, our Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory (MBL) brings precision to Agriscience. Recognized by DSIR and accredited by NABL (2025), it integrates molecular testing into our breeding pipeline, ensuring every hybrid and variety carries verified genetics and validated resistance.
The lab enables early identification of critical traits, helping us build seeds that perform consistently across India's diverse agro-climatic zones. MBL is guided by one principle - genetics must not only yield more but also stay resilient under the varied demands of actual farm environments.
At MBL, we apply advanced molecular and immuno-diagnostic platforms to strengthen trait selection and seed validation.
Our key focus areas include: PCR / RT-PCR, DNA fingerprinting & genetic purity profiling, Marker-Assisted Selection (MAS), Double Haploid (DH) line acceleration and genome editing technology.
These technologies allow us to screen for multi-disease resistance, validate parent lines, and ensure trait stability before seeds enter large-scale production. Our current research programmes are need-led, crop-focused and aligned with the most pressing challenges seen in farms.

MBL supports accelerated line development and targeted trait introgression across fibre, cereals, field and vegetable crops, helping breeders stabilize next-gen genetics for commercial use. Our molecular pipeline makes trait selection sharper, product development faster and results data-backed, but never assumption-led.
MBL is our early trait-verification engine and genetics-strengthening platform built for India's farming future. Every DNA marker, profile and validation step moves us closer to seeds farmers can trust under real field pressure.
At MBL, we don't just test strength; we build it, for every farm and every season.
